Orioles Starter Goes Unclaimed On Waivers; Sent Outright

He was designated for assignment last week.

Now, the Baltimore Orioles have sent starter Chris Vallimont outright to Triple-A Norfolk after he passed through waivers unclaimed.

Vallimont was claimed off waivers last June from the Minnesota Twins but was removed from the 40-man roster to make room for newly-acquired Ryan O'Hearn. He'll remain with the Orioles as extra pitching depth.

The twenty-five-year-old recorded an underwhelming 5.63 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 105 strikeouts across 104 innings of work last season between the Double-A and Triple-A levels.

Vallimont is a former fifth-round pick by the Miami Marlins in the 2018 MLB Draft.
