New York Mets Outright Pitcher

He went unclaimed on waivers.

The New York Mets have sent pitcher William Woods outright to Triple-A Syracuse.

Woods passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment in late December.

The twenty-four-year-old appeared in just two innings for the Atlanta Braves last season, recording two strikeouts with no earned runs. He was claimed off waivers by the Mets in November.

Woods is a former 23rd-round pick by the Braves in the 2018 MLB Draft. He'll give the Mets some added pitching depth at Triple-A Syracuse this season.
