MLB Rumors: Chicago White Sox Linked to Royals Infielder

The Chicago White Sox are aiming to add another infielder to their group before the start of the regular season. As a result of this, there are reports that they are zeroing in on Kansas City Royals infielder Nicky Lopez.

The Royals are listening to offers for Lopez, so there is a decent chance that the White Sox could land them if they send them a trade package that they find appealing. Yet, the versatile player is coming off of a bit of a down year, as he had a .227 batting average in 141 games in 2022. Keep in mind, he just hit .300 in 151 games the campaign before.

It will be intriguing to see if the White Sox end up bringing in Lopez from here. Perhaps a change of scenery could help him find his previous form at the plate. Alas, time will tell if that does in fact come to fruition from here.
