Kansas City Royals Sign Pitcher

Joining the Kansas City Royals.

The Royals have signed pitcher Will McAffer to a minor-league contract.

McAffer spent three seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays' minor-league system, never making it past Low-A, however.

He then joined the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the independent American Association last year, recording a stellar 1.54 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts across 11.2 innings of work and 12 appearances.

For his minor-league career with the Blue Jays' organization, McAffer holds a 5.39 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, and 196 strikeouts over 162 innings.

The twenty-five-year-old will get another chance this season with the Royals' organization.

The native of North Vancouver, BC, Canada is a former 25th-round pick by the Blue Jays in the 2018 MLB Draft.
