Detroit Tigers Sign Speedy Free Agent Outfielder

Joining the Detroit Tigers.

The Tigers have signed outfielder Jonathan Davis to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training.

Davis will compete for a spot on the Tigers' season-opening roster this spring training.

The speedy outfielder posted a .224/.344/.237 triple-slash line, with four RBIs, seven stolen bases and nine runs scored over 37 games played with the Milwaukee Brewers.

He spent the rest of the season in the minors, where he slashed a strong .289/.390/.812 line, with four home runs, 22 RBIs, 14 stolen bases and 27 runs scored across 187 at-bats.

Davis was removed from the Brewers' 40-man roster at the end of September and ultimately decided to test the free-agent market.

The thirty-year old will likely function as a versatile reserve outfielder for the Tigers.
