Chicago White Sox Sign Pitcher

Bringing him back.

The Chicago White Sox have re-signed pitcher Alejandro Mateo to a minor league contract.
Mateo spent the entire past season in the White Sox organization where he posted a very strong 1.73 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 29 strikeouts over 26 innings of work. He started 2 games, made 20 relief appearances and held a 2-1 record.

The twenty-eight-year-old is a former 22nd-round pick by the Miami Marlins in the 2016 MLB Draft. Mateo will give the White Sox some added pitching depth and will look to make his major league debut this coming season.
