Chicago Cubs Sign Pitcher

An interesting addition by the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs have signed pitcher Jordan Holloway to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training.

Holloway made just one appearance with the Miami Marlins last season, but overall he boasts a 3.92 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts across 39 innings of work in the majors, all with the Marlins.

For his minor-league career, the twenty-six-year-old holds a 4.81 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and 310 strikeouts over 361.1 innings. He's made 85 starts and 12 relief appearances so he offers some nice flexibility for the Cubs depending on how they want to utilize him.

Holloway is a former 20th-round pick of the Marlins in the 2014 MLB Draft.
