Best Free Agent Third-Baseman Remaining

For teams in need of some extra depth at the hot corner, there are still some decent options remaining in free agency.

The top remaining free agent third baseman:

  • Mike Moustakas (34 years old)
Moustakas is entering his 13th major league season, having posted a .234/.313/.447 triple-slash line, with 56 home runs, 161 RBIs and 144 runs scored over the last four seasons (327 games). He's dealt with a lot of injuries recently, but can still provide some pop and would be a nice depth piece for a contending team.
  • Charlie Culberson (33 years old)
Culberson is entering his 11th season, having posted a .246/.292/.373 triple-slash line over the past two seasons with the Texas Rangers, tacking on seven home runs, 34 RBIs and nine stolen bases. Culberson is a very versatile defender and offers some decent offense. He'd be a nice depth option for teams.
  • Edwin Rios (28 years old)
Rios is a very interesting name still available. He was non-tendered by the Los Angeles Dodgers in November and, while he has struggled to put it all together offensively at the major league level, he still has eye-catching power. It would be very intriguing to see what Rios could do with a full-time role. The Detroit Tigers were mentioned to have some interest in him a couple of months ago, and that would appear to be a good fit. In 27 games with the Dodgers last season, Rios cranked seven home runs and 17 RBIs.
