Texas Rangers Sign Catcher

The Texas Rangers have re-signed David Garcia to a minor league contract.

Garcia initially became a free agent at the start of the offseason, but now he is heading right back to the Rangers organization. The 22-year-old will continue to serve as a depth option for Texas.

Garcia is a prospect who played 66 games for Double-A Frisco last season, where he had five home runs, 36 RBIs, and a .228 batting average. Overall, it was not the greatest season ever for him, but he will be aiming to change that in 2023. Following his signing, he was assigned to Triple-A Round Rock, so let's see if he can keep his spot on their roster for the start of the year.
