San Francisco Giants Bring Back Infielder

The San Francisco Giants have signed Donovan Walton to a minor league deal.

Walton split this past season between the Seattle Mariners and Giants, where he had one home run, eight RBIs, and a .158 batting average in 25 games. Overall, it was a fairly underwhelming season for the 28-year-old in the majors, but the Giants were still not against bringing him back on this minor league pact.

At worst, Walton will serve as a call-up option for the Giants when injuries arise. However, if he impresses at Spring Training, perhaps he could make the squad as a depth piece.
