MLB Rumors: Tampa Bay Rays Star Pitcher Becoming Trade Candidate

According to Mike Axisa of CBS Sports, Tampa Bay Rays star pitcher Tyler Glasnow could be moved this offseason.

Axisa noted that Glasnow's very expensive salary mixed with his UFA eligibility getting closer (after the 2024 season) could lead the Rays to move him. Ultimately, it would not be too surprising, as Tampa Bay has become famous for trading away their top players as they get closer to becoming free agents. This is because of their limited budget.

Yet, there is also some risk in teams making a push for Glasnow. The 6-foot-8 righty just came back from Tommy John surgery, but he also looked excellent. In two appearances at the end of the year, he had a small 1.35 ERA and impressive 10 strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched.
