MLB Rumors: San Francisco Giants & Oakland A's Talking Trade

Oakland Athletics catcher Sean Murphy has been receiving a ton of interest around the league, but according to Susan Slusser, a new team has entered the sweepstakes - the San Francisco Giants.

The Giants are looking to bounce back from a rather mediocre 2022 season, and bringing in a player like Murphy would be a good way to help make that come to fruition. The 6-foot-3 catcher is coming off of a strong 2022 season with the A's that saw him have 18 home runs, 66 RBIs, and a .250 batting average. With that, he was defensively responsible, so this is the all-around player that the Giants should be aiming for.

Picking up Murphy will cost a good amount given the immense interest in his services, so we will have to wait and see if the Giants are willing to pay up to get him.
