MLB Rumors: Cleveland Guardians Linked to Free-Agent First Baseman

According to Jon Heyman, free-agent first baseman Josh Bell is on the Cleveland Guardians' list.

It makes sense that the Guardians are aiming to add to their roster, as they are coming off of a solid 2022 season that saw them finish with a 92-70 record. Yet, there is still more work to be done if they want to win their first World Series since 1948. Adding a slugger like Bell could be another step in the right direction.

Bell spent this past season split between the Washington Nationals and San Diego Padres, where he had 17 home runs, 71 RBIs, and a .266 batting average. However, he struggled after being dealt to the Padres, as his .192 batting average in 53 games. Yet, he also hit .301 in 103 games with the Nationals, so it makes sense that Cleveland is open to taking a chance on him. Let's see if he ends up being a Guardian from here.
