MLB Rumors: 8 Teams In The Bidding For Kodai Senga

One of the most intriguing big names on the free agent pitching market has to be Japanese star Kodai Senga. He has a huge market, and won't cost nearly as much as the elite major league starters like Jacob deGrom, Justin Verlander or Carlos Rodon. There are reportedly 8 teams in the running for Senga.

Insider Jon Morosi names the Los Angeles Angels, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays as teams in the chase for Senga, while fellow Insider Jon Heyman fills in the gap with several others.

Heyman names the New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, San Deigo Padres and Texas Rangers.

Another report today has revealed that he's already met with several of them.

His agent, Joel Wolfe, said his client has already been offered multi-year contracts running “five or six" years. He notes that Senga's priority is to be with a team that is ready to win immediately.

And while some of the team names are speculation, the Blue Jays actually talked about their interest yesterday.

Toronto manager John Schneider said “a lot of good teams that want to win” have done their homework on Senga and “we’re one of those teams.”
