Miami Marlins Acquire Outfielder from New York Mets

The Miami Marlins have a new outfielder, as they have acquired Jake Mangum from the New York Mets. He is the player to be named later from last month's Elieser Hernandez-Jeff Brigham swap.

Mangum is a prospect who spent this past season split between Triple-A, Double-A, and Rk. In 72 games on the year, he had four home runs, 35 RBIs, and a .306 batting average. Overall, it was a solid year for him, and he will be hoping to translate that over to the Marlins organization from here.

Mangum could be a call-up option for Miami if he continues to play this well moving forward. At worst, they simply have added to their depth by bringing him in.
