Guardians Sign Pitcher

Headed to Cleveland.

The Cleveland Guardians have signed pitcher Caleb Baragar to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training.

Baragar will look to make the Guardians' Opening Day bullpen during spring training after spending all of last season with the Arizona Diamondbacks Triple-A affiliate.

For his major league career, the twenty-eight-year-old holds a strong 2.78 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts over 45.1 innings of work with the San Francisco Giants.

The Guardians have a history of turning unknown players into household names, so it will be interesting to see if they can do that with Baragar.
