Chicago White Sox Sign Veteran Outfielder

The Chicago White Sox have signed Billy Hamilton to a minor league contract. It also comes with an invitation to major league Spring Training.

Hamilton spent this past season split between the Miami Marlins and Minnesota Twins. In 37 games, he had zero home runs, zero RBIs, and a .050 batting average. Needless to say, the veteran outfielder struggled mightily at the plate and will be hoping for the chance to change that in 2023.

Hamilton is a familiar face to the White Sox, as he appeared in 71 games for them in 2021. He will be aiming to impress at Spring Training and make their major league roster for Opening Day. Should he make the team, he will provide the White Sox with more speed and could work well as a depth piece.
