Baltimore Orioles Designate Infielder for Assignment

The Baltimore Orioles have designated Tyler Nevin for assignment.

Nevin appeared in a career-high 58 games this past season with Baltimore, where he had two home runs, 16 RBIs, and a .197 batting average. Overall, it is fair to say that he struggled while with the major league squad, so perhaps one could have predicted his removal from their 40-man roster. Regardless, teams around the league can now make a push to add the third baseman.

One has to wonder if the Los Angeles Angels will consider the prospect of claiming him off waivers or trading for him. Keep in mind, his father is Phil Nevin and he just so happens to the manager of the Halos.
