Royals Rumors: 3 Players Not Expected Back Next Season

The Kansas City Royals were at the bottom of the AL Central this season, sporting a 65-97 record. This is a team that is rebuilding, so we should see some departures this offseason from their roster. Let's look at three players not expected back.

Zack Greinke: Although Zack Greinke had a 4-9 record, his 3.68 ERA shows that he was reliable when called upon this season. Due to this, it seems possible that we could see the veteran test his luck on the open market one last time. However, we also shouldn't rule out the possibility of the 19-year veteran calling it a career, either.

Adalberto Mondesi: Due to the Royals' infield depth, Adalberto Mondesi has become a trade candidate. It seems more likely than not that we will see him moved, as his placement on their depth chart has decreased noticeably. In 15 games this season, he had three RBIs and a .140 batting average.

Hunter Dozier: Hunter Dozier is another trade candidate for the Royals this offseason. The 2013 first-round pick could get some interest on the trade market, as he does have a 26-home run campaign on his resume. Teams in need of some help at first base or DH could consider bringing him for depth.
