The Boston Red Sox have acquired utility player Hoy Park from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for minor-league pitcher Inmer Lobo.

This past season, Park slashed .216/.276/.373, with two home runs, six RBIs and seven runs scored over 23 games in the majors with the Pirates. The twenty-six-year-old spent the remainder of the season in the minor leagues, where he posted a similarly underwhelming .225/.332/.354 slash line.

In exchange, the Pirates acquired pitcher Inmer Lobo.

Lobo spent the entire season in the minors with the Red Sox' rookie affiliate team, where he posted a fantastic 0.82 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 28 strikeouts across 22 innings. He made five starts and held a 2-0 record. He's just 18 years old.
