Pirates Rumors: 3 Players Not Expected Back Next Season

The Pittsburgh Pirates were among the worst teams in baseball this season, and, well, that was expected of them. They are rebuilding, and as a result of this, we should expect them to move on from more players this offseason. Here are three who stand out.

Bryan Reynolds: Bryan Reynolds has been a major name in the rumor mill since last offseason, but he has yet to be moved. Yet, we should expect to see the Pirates take advantage of his maximized trade value and deal him for a big haul of top prospects. In 145 games this season, he had 27 home runs, 62 RBIs, and a .262 batting average.

Ben Gamel: Expect the Pirates to let Ben Gamel walk straight into free agency this offseason. The veteran outfielder will be looking for a new home and to land himself a decent contract on the open market. In 115 games this year, he had nine home runs, 46 RBIs, and a .232 batting average.

Roberto Perez: Roberto Perez will be let go by the Pirates this offseason. The veteran catcher played in just 21 games this season for Pittsburgh, where he had two home runs and a .233 batting average.
