Orioles Catcher Elects Free Agency

He was claimed off waivers from the San Diego Padres in September but never got a chance with the big-league club.

Baltimore Orioles catcher Cam Gallagher has elected free agency.
Gallagher got into just 18 games in the majors this past season with the Kansas City Royals, slashing .214/.267/.333, with five RBIs and one run scored.

For his career, the twenty-nine-year-old catcher has a triple-slash line of .240/.302/.355, with seven home runs, 39 RBIs and 41 runs scored over 171 games and six seasons.

Gallagher will look to get an opportunity elsewhere this offseason, although it's unlikely that he lands anything more than a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.
