MLB Rumors: Red Sox Outfielder Becoming Trade Candidate

According to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com, Boston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo is a player who could be on the move this offseason.

Verdugo will certainly get a lot of interest around the league if made available, as he is a solid contact hitter who is a good fielder. In 152 games this season with Boston, he had 11 home runs, 74 RBIs, and a .280 batting average. Clearly, he is an effective player, and that should make him an appealing target for teams needing to upgrade this outfield.

The Red Sox are facing an offseason of uncertainty, as they could lose players like Xander Boegaerts, Nathan Eovaldi, and J.D. Martinez to free agency. Perhaps Boston is ready to revamp their roster entirely after a bad 2022 season, so let's see if Verdugo ends up being moved.
