MLB Rumors: Oakland A's Catcher to be Traded

After being one of the most-talked about names at the trade deadline, Oakland A's catcher Sean Murphy stayed put past the deadline. However, with the offseason just about here, expect that to change. With the A's in full-tanking mode, they will surely take advantage of Murphy's heightened trade value and move me.

Murphy is coming off of a strong this season that saw him have 18 home runs, 66 RBIs, and a .250 batting average. That is solid production from a catcher, but it's also important to note that his fielding ability is excellent. This, in turn, is already leading to several teams being linked to him, so a move seems inevitable.

Murphy is under team control until 2026, so any club that acquires him will need to be good with him being more than a rental. However, given his strong play, teams will likely be ecstatic about that.
