Kansas City Royals Designate Catcher for Assignment

The Kansas City Royals have designated Sebastian Rivero for assignment.

Rivero appeared in 17 games this past season with the Royals, where he had zero home runs, one RBI, and a .154 batting average. Overall, it is fair to say that he did not have too much success while with Kansas City, so perhaps his removal from the 40-man roster could have been predicted. As a result, he is now on waivers, and teams around the league have the chance to claim him.

Rivero has 34 games of MLB experience, so he is a player who is simply trying to get his career truly started. During them, he has zero home runs, four RBIs, and a .167 batting average. Teams in need of catching depth could give him a chance, so let's see what happens from here.
