Yankees Rumors: 3 Players Not Expected Back Next Season

The New York Yankees are always a team to watch during the offseason, but this winter is going to be one of the biggest in franchise history for them. Several notable players have expiring deals, but at the end of the day, they will not be able to re-sign them all. Let's look at the three most likely to leave.

Aaron Judge: It is going to take a lot to successfully re-sign Aaron Judge. The superstar outfielder is coming off of an MVP-caliber season during a contract year, so teams around the league will be going all-out once he hits the open market. It has been reported that the San Francisco Giants are also willing to do all it takes to successfully land Judge, so the Yankees are in trouble. If Judge does leave, things will drastically change in the Big Apple.

Aroldis Chapman: It is clearly time for the Yankees and Aroldis Chapman to end their relationship. Chapman's 2022 season was a complete disaster. In 43 games on the year, the former All-Star closer had a 4.46 ERA. However, he also caused issues during the playoffs, as he refused to report to a mandatory workout right before it. As a result, his time in New York is surely over.

Andrew Benintendi: Although Andrew Benintendi's 2022 season ended with an injury, it is clear that he will have a variety of suitors during free agency. He was named to his first All-Star Game and had an impressive .304 batting average in 126 games. Expect for him to take advantage of his risen value and sign a big deal elsewhere.
