Tigers Release Pitcher

He's been passed around the league in the past year.

The Detroit Tigers have released pitcher Ricardo Sanchez.
Sanchez signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies last April shortly after being released by the St. Louis Cardinals and was eventually traded to the Tigers in mid-August.

The twenty-five-year-old pitcher last appeared in the majors with the Cardinals during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.

Sanchez posted an underwhelming 4.95 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 103 strikeouts over 116.1 innings this past season at Triple-A.

For his career in the minors, Sanchez holds a 4.60 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and 573 strikeouts over 633.2 innings. He's only made three appearances in the majors in his career.
