Tigers DFA Starter for Third Time This Year

It's the third time the Detroit Tigers have designated him for assignment this year.

The Tigers have designated starter Drew Hutchison for assignment.
The Tigers needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Jermaine Palacios and it looks like Hutchison was the odd man out.

Entering his final season of arbitration eligibility, Hutchison was most likely going to be non-tendered anyways this winter. Now, this will just give the thirty-two-year-old a head start on searching for a new team in the free-agent market.

Hutchison posted a 4.53 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts over 105 innings of work with the Tigers this season. Other than Tarik Skubal, Drew Hutchison made the most starts on the Tigers roster this season with 18.

He is a former 15th-round pick by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2009 MLB Draft.
