Red Sox Claim Catcher Off Waivers

He was designated for assignment by the Minnesota Twins.

Now, the Boston Red Sox have claimed catcher Caleb Hamilton off waivers from the Twins.
The twenty-seven-year-old catcher finally made it to the major leagues this season, but hit just .056 in 18 at-bats, hitting a home run and scoring five runs over 22 games played.

In the minors this season, Hamilton slashed .233/.367/.809, with 11 home runs, 43 RBIs, one stolen base and 34 runs scored over 206 at-bats.

He is a former 23rd-round pick by the Minnesota Twins in the 2016 MLB Draft.

He'll add some extra catching depth for the Boston Red Sox.
