Phillies Set Rotation For Game 3, And It's History In The Making

It's been a while (11 years, to be exact), but the Philadelphia Phillies are back and making some noise in the postseason. Their Game 3 starter has been announced, and it's history-making for the franchise.

Nola talked about the legendary playoff atmosphere in Philly.

“They said it’s something special,” he said. “I’ve actually talked to some guys who have played here as an opponent, and they said it’s one of the worst places to play, being an opponent — but one of the best, atmosphere-wise. So I think that’s what we can’t wait for. We know it’s going to be electric. And just to finally get back here in the postseason, it’s awesome.”

Nola has made 203 starts in a Phillies uniform, but none will be bigger than this one, his first playoff start.

According to Jayson Stark of The Athletic, no other pitcher in history has ever debuted with the Phillies and made more starts than Aaron Nola before his first postseason start in Philadelphia.

The Phillies and the Atlanta Braves are tied at a game apiece. Nola will face off against sensational rookie Spencer Strider in Game 3
