Phillies Lock in Starter for NLCS Game 1

The Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres shocked the baseball world with their upsets of the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Phillies will turn to ace Zack Wheeler in Game 1 of the NLCS on Tuesday against the Padres.

Wheeler draws the Phillies' starting assignment for the first day in postseason history where two playoff rounds overlap as the ALCS matchup has yet to be determined after Monday's game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Wheeler allowed three runs over six innings last Wednesday in the Phillies' loss to the Atlanta Braves in Game 2 of the NLDS.

The thirty-two-year-old ace has allowed just three runs on six hits with nine strikeouts over 12.1 innings this postseason.
