Orioles Claim Outfielder Off Waivers

He was designated for assignment by the Minnesota Twins.

Now, Jake Cave has been claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles.
The twenty-nine-year-old outfielder had a disappointing season offensively for the Twins, slashing just .213/.260/.384, with five home runs, 20 RBIs, and two stolen bases over 177 plate appearances.

Cave certainly has some upside as a platoon hitter for the Orioles, and is a low-risk high-reward pickup for the team. He owns a career .235/.297/.708 slash line in the majors, with 67 home runs, 352 RBIs and 74 stolen bases over 3,151 at-bats.

Cave is a former sixth-round pick by the New York Yankees in the 2011 MLB Draft.
