Mets Announce WCS Roster; Injured Star Player Makes the Cut

The New York Mets are ready for Game 1 of their Wild Card Series against the San Diego Padres. 

Absent players include Tyler Naquin and Mark Vientos. 

The Mets will carry 12 pitchers on their roster: 

Chris Bassitt

Jacob deGrom

Max Scherzer

The Mets will carry three catchers on their roster: 

Francisco Alvarez

James McCann

Tomas Nido

The Mets will carry six infielders on their roster: 

Pete Alonso

Eduardo Escobar

Luis Guillorme

Francisco Lindor

Jeff McNeil

Daniel Vogelbach

The Mets will carry five outfielders on their roster: 

Mark Canha

Terrance Gore

Starling Marte

Brandon Nimmo

Darin Ruf

Scherzer will start Game 1 on Friday and the Mets have yet to announce their Game 2 starter. 

Marte is still injured, but he will attempt to play through it as best he can.
