Marlins Recall Starter

He'll get the final start of the season for the Miami Marlins.

The Marlins have recalled starter Elieser Hernandez from Triple-A Jacksonville.

Hernandez will attempt to eat up as many innings as he can in the Marlins' final game of the regular season against the Atlanta Braves.

The twenty-seven-year-old has posted a 6.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 57 strikeouts over 58 innings in the majors this season. In 19 appearances, he's made nine starts and holds a 3-6 record.

In the minors this year Hernandez has been disappointing, registering a 3.97 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 71 strikeouts across 59 innings of work. He's made 13 starts and held a 4-4 record.

Once a former top prospect who was drafted 10th-overall in the 2017 MLB Draft, Hernandez has just not been able to put it together at the major league level. He'll look to end his 2022 season on a good note.
