Gonsolin Limited To 75 Pitches on Friday; Two Starters Will Be Available as Bulk Relievers

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that starter Tony Gonsolin is prepared for ''upwards of 75 pitches'' in his NLDS Game 3 start against the San Diego Padres on Friday.

Roberts added that pitchers Dustin May and Andrew Heaney will be available as bulk relievers behind him.

Gonsolin missed all of September because of a right forearm strain, but he returned for one final regular-season start on October 3, only throwing 40 pitches in that outing. He then threw four simulated innings during a team workout last weekend.

Heaney posted a 3.10 ERA over 72 innings and 14 starts this season. Dustin May registered a 4.50 ERA over 30 innings and six starts this season.

The best-of-five NLDS between the Dodgers and Padres is currently tied at a game apiece leading into Friday night's matchup at Petco Park in San Diego.
