Former Top Prospect Elects Free Agency

After laboring in the minors and getting into just nine games in the majors this season, he's decided to sell his services elsewhere.

Monte Harrison has elected free agency.

Harrison appeared in nine games with the Los Angeles Angels this past season, slashing .182/.357/.455, with one home run, three RBIs, one stolen base and five runs scored over just 14 plate appearances.

For his three-year major league career, the twenty-seven-year-old has slashed .176/.253/.294, with two home runs, six RBIs, seven stolen bases, and 13 runs scored over 50 games between the Miami Marlins and Angels.

The former promising prospect will likely land a spring training invite somewhere, but is probably just minor league depth at this point.
