Blue Jays Recall Starter

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled starter Casey Lawrence from Triple-A Buffalo.

Casey Lawrence will be the 29th man for the Blue Jays on Wednesday for the team's doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles.

Lawrence is expected to work multiple innings in either the first or second game of the doubleheader against the Orioles on the final day of the regular season.

The thirty-four-year-old has really struggled at the major league level this season, allowing 14 runs over 15.2 innings of work. More specifically, Lawrence has posted an 8.04 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and nine strikeouts over 15.2 innings of work. He's made five relief appearances for the Jays this season.

In the minors this season, however, Lawrence has been spectacular, registering a 2.79 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 106 strikeouts over 126 innings of work. He's made 23 starts and holds a solid 9-5 record.
