Washington Nationals Place Catcher On Injured List

The Washington Nationals have placed Keibert Ruiz on the 10-day injured list.

Ruiz has quietly had a strong first full season with the Nationals, and the truth is in his statistics. In 112 games, he has seven home runs, 36 RBIs, and a . 251 batting average. Although he hasn't been dominant, he has cemented himself as a full-time starting catcher with his play, but now that will be put on pause due to this injury.

With the Nationals completely out of playoff contention, they are in a position where they absolutely do not need to rush Ruiz back. If his injury does not improve during this stint on the 10-day IL, don't be surprised to see him ruled out for the rest of the year, as we inching closer to it.
