Washington Nationals Pitcher Likely Done For Season

While speaking to reporters, Washington Nationals manager Dave Martinez said that Cade Cavalli is unlikely to return to the mound this season.

Cavalli has been out for the last two weeks due to shoulder inflammation. Inflammation is never something for a pitcher to take lightly, so it ultimately makes sense for Cavalli to sit out the rest of the year to help remedy the situation. Furthermore, with the Nationals out of the playoff picture entirely, there's truly no need for him to risk anything.

In one appearance for the Nationals this season, Cavalli had a 0-1 record and 14.54 ERA. He will be hoping to leave a better impression with Washington in 2023.
