San Francisco Giants Call Up Pitcher

The San Francisco Giants have called up Luis Ortiz to their major league roster.

Ortiz immediately made his debut on Wednesday for the Giants, where he pitched 0.2 scoreless innings. Overall, he did what was asked of him when called upon, and he will be aiming to continue this during this call-up.

Ortiz is a former first-round pick who had not pitched at the major league level since 2019 before this. Yet, the 26-year-old is now getting another chance in the bigs and will be aiming to take full advantage of it. With the Giants essentially out of the playoff race, there's no harm in them taking a chance on Ortiz, either. Therefore, it's a potential win-win for both parties.
