Pittsburgh Pirates Claim Infielder Off Waivers

Miguel Andujar is finally getting a much-needed fresh start, as he has been claimed off of waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Andujar was designated for assignment last week by the New York Yankees. This seemed like a long time coming, as the 27-year-old was disgruntled with his lack of opportunities as a member of the Bronx Bombers. Yet, there wasn't a trade market for him. Now, the former top prospect is getting a new chance in Pittsburgh.

Overall, this could be a low-risk, high-reward kind of move by the Pirates. If Andujar can find success again, he will be a very good addition for Pittsburgh. Keep in mind, he does have a 27-home run season on his resume.
