Philadelphia Phillies Designate Infielder For Assignment

The Philadelphia Phillies have designated Johan Camargo for assignment.

Camargo was primarily been utilized as a depth player for the Phillies this season. In 52 games on the year, he has three home runs, 15 RBIs, and a .237 batting average. Overall, he had some decent moments with Philadelphia, but it was not enough for him to maintain his spot on the 40-man roster, thus leading to this DFA.

Camargo will now be hitting the waiver wire, where teams will have the chance to claim him. His ability to play several different positions could help him find a new home, so we will need to keep our eyes open on that front from here.
