Outfielder Elects Free Agency

The twenty-eight-year-old outfielder was designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Angels earlier in the week.

He passed through waivers unclaimed and, now, outfielder Steven Duggar has elected free agency rather than accepting his outright assignment to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Duggar has slashed a brutal .153/.225/.222, with no home runs, four RBIs and five stolen bases over 80 plate appearances between the San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers and Angels this season.

Duggar has been bad in the minors this season as well, hitting for a .182 batting average, with four home runs, 12 RBIs and six stolen bases over 121 at-bats.

It will be interesting to see if yet another team gives Duggar an opportunity.
