New York Yankees Infielder Clears Waivers

Earlier this week, the New York Yankees designated Ronald Guzman for assignment. Now, the first baseman has since cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Guzman has over three years of MLB experience, so he has the option to elect free agency instead of accepting this outright assignment. At the time of this writing, it has not been announced whether or not he decided to test his luck on the free-agent market.

Guzman appeared in three games for the Yankees during his recent call-up, where he went 0-for-6 at the plate (with five strikeouts). It was not a strong showing for the 27-year-old, but we will have to wait and see what he decides from here.
