Miami Marlins Pitcher Gets Surgery

Miami Marlins pitcher Nick Neidert has had surgery on his right knee to help fix an ongoing injury that he has been suffering.

Given how late it is in the season, it seems likely that Neidert will not throw another pitch during the 2022 campaign. At the major league level, Neidert only appeared in one game, where he allowed two earned runs in 5.0 innings pitched. Overall, it wasn't too bad of a start, so it is a little bit of a shame that he likely will not be able to pitch again this season.

Neidert is a young pitcher who is still aiming to cement himself as a full-time MLB player. In 13 career games over the three last seasons, he has a 1-3 record to go along with a 4.59 ERA. Here's to hoping that he is fully recovered by next season and that he will get more chances in the majors in 2023.
