Marlins Activate Outfielder Following One-Month Absence

The Miami Marlins are getting their offseason acquisition back.

The Marlins have activated outfielder Avisail Garcia from the 10-day injured list.

Garcia rejoins the Marlins outfield mix following a one-month absence due to a left hamstring strain. The thirty-one-year-old has hit for an underwhelming .229/.266/.318 slash line, with seven home runs, 30 RBIs and four stolen bases over 89 games this season.

In his minor league rehab assingment, Garcia hit .238, with one RBI, a stolen base and three runs scored over 21 at-bats.

The Marlins signed Garcia this past offseason to a four-year, $53 million deal. He was one of the top free agents on the market this winter.
