Julio Rodriguez Joins Very Select List In Baseball History

It was another standing ovation for Seattle Mariners rookie sensation Julio Rodriguez, as he entered baseball lore with his latest accomplishment today.

By stealing 2nd base against in the 5th inning against the San Diego Padres, J-Rod becomes only the 3rd rookie ever to have a 25/25 season (25 HR, 25 SB).

Rodriguez joins Mike Trout, who accomplished the feat in 2012, and Chris Young who did it in 2007. And incredibly, the steal came moments after he was shaken up by getting beaned with a fastball.

But the accolades don't end there. He's also the fastest ever to accomplish the feat, doing it in just 125 games.

It took Trout until Game No. 128 to reach 25/25.

In Mariners' history, Julio was also the fastest to 15/20, 2nd-fastest to 20/20 & now fastest to 25/25 clubs in MLB history. Ah, wait, but that's not all...

He's also just the 4th American League player aged 21 or younger to hit 25 home runs in his rookie season, joining Hall of Famers joining Joe DiMaggio (1936), Ted Williams (1939) & Eddie Murray (1977).

Safe to say that J-Rod is also in line to win Rookie Of The Year.
