D-Backs Option Pitcher

The Arizona Diamondbacks have optioned pitcher Luis Frias to Triple-A Reno.

To make room for RHP Ryne Nelson, the #Dbacks have optioned RHP Luis Frías to Triple-A Reno and placed INF Yonny Hernandez on the 60-day injured list (strained left calf).

Frias heads back to the minors as the D-Backs are promoting Ryne Nelson to the big league roster to take his spot. The twenty-four-year-old has posted a brutal 12.34 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and nine strikeouts over 11.2 innings. 

In the minors this season, the twenty-four year old has registered an underwhelming 4.09 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and a strong 71 strikeouts over 44 innings. In 24 appearances, he's posted a 3-2 record and has started three games. 

We most likely won't see him back in the major leagues again this season.
