Cincinnati Reds Designate Infielder For Assignment

The Cincinnati Reds have made a change to their 40-man roster, as Colin Moran has been designated for assignment.

Moran has struggled in 2022, so perhaps this is a move that could have been predicted. In 42 games as a Red, he has five home runs, 23 RBIs, and a .211 batting average. Given this recent development, it seems more likely than not that Moran's time in Cincinnati will be coming to a close.

Moran will be placed on waivers from here, and a team in need of some infield depth could claim him given his long MLB resume. However, if he clears, don't be surprised to see him elect free agency over an outright assignment.
