Chicago White Sox Call Up Catcher

The Chicago White Sox have called up Carlos Perez to their major league roster.

Perez has appeared in his first two MLB games this season with the White Sox, where he has gone one-for-four at the plate. Overall, the sample size is of course very small, but he will be hoping to get into a lot of action during this call-up before the season is officially over.

With the White Sox being out of the playoff race due to a very underwhelming season for them, they are in a position to take a look at a player like Perez. It will be intriguing to see how the catcher performs from here for the club. If he does well, perhaps he could serve as the White Sox's backup next season.
